In Memory of Dr. Sujeet Jha

(1967 – 2022)
Founder, Visionary, and Force Behind DREAMFC

Dr. Sujeet Jha was more than a renowned endocrinologist—he was a compassionate healer, a visionary leader, and a relentless advocate for improving diabetes care in India. With over 25 years of clinical excellence, Dr. Jha has dedicated his life to transforming the understanding, diagnosis, and management of diabetes.

Before joining Max Healthcare, Dr. Jha underwent specialist training in Endocrinology and served within the United Kingdom's National Health Service (NHS), where he worked across leading hospitals and developed the strong clinical and academic foundation that shaped his distinguished career in diabetes and endocrinology.

He was the principal architect behind the Institute of Diabetes and Endocrinology at Max Healthcare and led several national and international initiatives in diabetes research. As the Principal Investigator (North India) and Steering Committee Member of the NIHR Global Health Research Unit (GHRU) on Diabetes and Cardiovascular Diseases in South Asia, Dr. Jha’s work shaped global conversations around diabetes care. Dr. Jha authored over 65 scientific publications in prestigious journals, including Nature, The Lancet, BMJ, and PLOS One, earning nearly 2,500 citations. His leadership helped secure government funding for over 30 internal research studies, and his efforts laid the groundwork for evidence-based, scalable interventions for diabetes across India.

He was not only a scientist but also a teacher and mentor. Dr. Jha trained hundreds of physicians, diabetes educators, and nurses, building a robust network of professionals who continue to carry forward his commitment to patient-centric care.

Dr. Jha’s passion extended into the community, where he tirelessly promoted screening, awareness, and education—from empowering ASHA workers in Delhi to equipping nurses with hypoglycemia protocols, he ensured care reached where it was needed most.

DREAMFC is a tribute to his life’s work—a foundation built to carry forward his legacy by making diabetes care more accessible, impactful, and compassionate for all.
